JAY-Z’S NEPHEW RAMEL “MEL” CARTER ALBUM, "CERTIFIED" READY FOR DOWNLOAD

JAY-Z's nephew Ramel “Mel” Carter plans on continuing the Carter legacy of fine music and undeniable entrepreneurship as he launches his first free downloadable album “CERTIFIED with features from Compound University SAM HOOK and Mel's cousin/labelmate (Ty Ty's nephew) FLY RAH
On Tuesday, September 15, 2009, Mel released his first single "The Message," a response to Jay-Z song "Sweet" off the American Gangster album via various blog sites such as GlobalGrind.com, Bossip.com, ConcreteLoop.com. With much positive response from these blog site audience, no wonder why Jay-Z could not do interviews in the past without inquiry on his nephew Mel.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY before settling down in West Orange, NJ-- Mel chose the path to become a rapper. Mel recalls listening to his uncle Jay and absorbing Jay's every movement, lyrics and bar. By 1997, after watching his uncle Jay-Z “Ain’t No N**” video, Mel began to focus on turning his poetry into music. He never spoke much about his passion for writing until he turned 16 and told his cousins Spank and Fly Rah about one day stepping into the studio. Little did he know, they were on the same trek and decided to form their label, Natural Born Hustlaz Entertainment.
Despite the fact that Jay-Z does not recommend rapping to his nephews, Mel believes this is his path in life. During his November 2007 AllHipHop.com interview, Mel stated “he [Jay-Z] doesn’t suggest it at me. At the end of the day, it is my decision. I’m a man now. I figured that he didn’t want me to go through all the bullsh*t. I feel like he was protecting me.” In the April 2008 issues of Right On! and XXL magazines, Mel discussed his future goals for the rap game and how he will deal with the scrutiny of being Jay-Z’s nephew. And during his interview on September 13, 2009- Mel relived his fondest childhood memory growing up with Jay-Z during Lisa Evers “Street Soldiers.”

Mz Bratt - Give It To Em Vol 2

Hailing from East London and at the tender age of 17, Mz Bratt is already an inspirational figure to many in the world of UK Urban/Dance music and TV. Billed by many experts as 2009's one to watch, Mz Bratt has emerged from the current UK Urban scene as the lone female role model within a male dominated arena. Her exceptional talent struck renowned award-winning urban producer Terror Danjah (Kano, Sway, Chipmunk, Shola Ama) who took her under his wing after hearing her at local MC battles and seeing her huge Myspace following.

This was soon followed the news that Mz Bratt had been selected to be part of the T4 entertainment show 'Music-Cool', where she starred as the LEAD female- at one point reducing guest judge Jamelia to tears with her exceptional talent and vocal ability. Following this Mz Bratt then embarked on a huge US and European tour with Shoredich cool guys 'The Count and Sinden' which included shows at Glastonbury and Bestival.

She has also featured on remixes and records with artists including Wiley, Tinchy Stryder, Taio Cruz, Sadie Ama and Grammy nominated US Star Jazmine Sullivan.Mz Bratt's musical taste is diverse and she lists her influences ranging from Lauryn Hill, Beyonce, Coldplay, Method Man, Nas, Lady GaGa, Bob Marley and Michael Jackson.Another key influence was her father who was MC SCALLYWAG from the late 80's Acid-House outfit 'Spiral Tribe'. This early exposure to music of a liberating nature has certainly contributed to the development of Mz Bratt's own unique signature electro-fused hip-hop sound.

Her debut release 'Who Do You Think You Are?' was released through the highly successful Universal Music label 'All Around the World', who have recently seen massive success with label mates N-Dubz who sold over 500,000 Albums. The single has already been heavily rotated on BBC's 1xtra and Radio 1 having been championed by DJ's Tim Westwood and Pete Tong.

She has just released her mixtape on free download and is also performing on the Braap pack tour with Ironik, Chipmunk and many more…

‘Must Be Crazy’

‘Must Be Crazy is L.A.’s forthcoming single. Produced by Lazy and re-mixed by Stikman, ‘Must Be Crazy’ written by L.A. is an R&B track fused with Hip Hop.

The concept of the song is L.A.’s determination to succeed in the music industry. With lyrics such as “people never thought that I would make it, but now I’m here to see the crown and take it…” the song talks about her struggle to highlight her talent and because of this she feels she cant be compared to anyone else, which is emphasised in the songs chorus.

KC-The-Fracture-Kid

KC-the-fracture-kid has been tagged as a unique wordsmith whose musical creations cut through the stereotypical hip-hop and grime norms. Continually on the grind, he has sold just over 10,000 copies of his most recent mix tapes ‘Fracture Flows Volumes 1 & 2’ on street corners up and down the UK on a one to one basis to the majority of his fan base. Utilizing the highly effective and respected street team model, KC has managed to shift his material with amazing speed.

KC started his career at the age of 15-years, when he started to host guest slots on Temptation 102.4 FM with his former group ‘The High Grade Crew’. He cites one of the original grime collectives ‘NASTY Crew’ (which stands for Natural Artistic Sounds Touching You), whom he used to listen to on Déjà Vu 92.3FM as being one of his main inspirations while growing up musically.

Originally hailing from Leytonstone, East London (also known as the UK’s grime capital), he has opened up for artists such as JME, Skepta, Lisa Mafia, Sunshine Anderson and Shystie. Through an opportunity to move up North, to Newcastle, KC began to spend time in the studio and further develop his skills as an artist. At this point he began to gig extensively on the underground music circuit playing at infamous club nights such as ‘Love dough’ which features in many cities in the North East including Leeds, Durham, York and Newcastle. KC also created his first mix tape entitled ‘The Deadly Sins’ through seasoned promotional veteran ‘Matthew Smyth’ on Love Dough Recordings. ‘The Deadly Sins’ also featured Fallacy, Faith SFX and DJ Kofi.

With an exclusive invitation from Shortee Blitz to guest feature on a live radio set for Kiss FM’s 5th birthday alongside Sway, Estelle, Doc Brown and Pyrelli, combined with the video ‘Joe Pride’ receiving a warm public reception on Channel U, this alternative rapper who flows just as well over acoustic and electronic beats, as straight forward hip-hop and grime flavors has been creating somewhat of a quiet storm.

KC’s latest offering is an EP called ‘R.A.V.E.’, featuring the title track, with ‘Joe Pride’, ‘Catchphrase’ and ‘U Go Ure Way’ as the equally enticing B sides. ‘R.A.V.E’ will be available for download in January / February 2009
